The 2017 edition of the European Commission’s event European Development Days (EDD) held on June 7-8 in Brussels saw the participation of the Caribbean Export Development Agency (Caribbean Export) as part of those considered to be the “best of investing in development”.

EXPENDITURE MEASURES

- Interest rate savings on domestic debt

Government will seek to re-profile its debt by engaging the Central Bank of Barbados and the National Insurance Scheme to discuss a possible swap programme where they and government can re-issue some existing securities in their portfolios at lower interest rates agreed by the parties.

The CARICOM Single Market and Economy (CSME), the Community’s Strategic Plan, and internationally agreed goals, including those from the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, will be taken into account as preparations begin for the upcoming Round of Population and Housing Census.
