The exchange of hundred dollar bills for votes has now become a standard practice in Barbadian general elections, and if this corrupt practice is not brought to an end it will eventually totally destroy the public or civic life of our nation!

Over the past two General Elections (2008 and 2013) a distinct practice has emerged in which politicians and their henchmen descend upon working-class communities and seek to bribe electors - particularly young men and women - with hundred dollar bills.

Fatal Accident

Police are conducting investigation into the circumstances surrounding a Road fatality which occurred sometime around 4:00 am, on Saturday the 20th of January 2018, along Belle Gully Road, St. Michael, which resulted in the death of Alberto Fabrisco Samuel, 35 years of Green Hill, St. Michael, and formerly of Indian Ground, St.Peter, and injuries to Sara Gibson, 19 years of Dodds Land, St.Philip.

Members of the Drug Squad have arrested and formally charged a Barbadian, and two (2) Vincentian Nationals in relation to the drug seizure On Sunday the 14th of January 2018, approximately11.8 nautical miles off the Cement Plant, Checker Hall, St. Lucy, where Fifteen (15) polythene bags and two taped packages, containing 768.24lbs of Cannabis were seized.
