Seven year old girl crushed to death

Seven year old Adita Roopchand died yesterday within minutes,  after a metal gate fell on top of her at her Freeport home. The pupil of Freeport Hindu Primary School in Trinidad was allegedly in the front yard of her home at Beaucarro Village, standing mere feet away from her mother who was speaking with a neighbour on the roadway, when tragedy struck at around 9.15 a.m.

Almost four years ago, housewife Nanda Ramcharan saved the life of her nine-year-old son, Nyron, by donating one of her kidneys.

Yesterday at around 1.45 pm, Ramcharan, 36, Nyron, now 12, and her husband Mahadeo, 48, were killed when a garbage truck landed on top of their car on the Uriah Butler Highway near the Endeavour Flyover in Chaguanas.

CPL T20 ticket money stolen

Over $177,000 worth in ticket sales for three upcoming Caribbean Premier League Twenty20 fixtures at the Queen’s Park Oval, Port-of-Spain, scheduled for later this week, were stolen from the venue’s ticketing office between Saturday evening and yesterday morning.
