Buju Bantan to perform at Miami Concert

COME next January, scores of fans will be able to watch Buju Banton perform live for the first time since his arrest last year in the United States on cocaine and weapon charges.

The way has been made clear for Banton to appear on the January 16 show in Miami, Florida.

Judge James Moody overturned a previous decision by Magistrate Judge Anthony Porcelli not to grant the Jamaican-born artiste permission to perform on the reggae show.

Mark Myrie aka Buju Banton had on November 23 applied for permission to perform at the concert, originally scheduled for December 26, but Porcelli dismissed the motion on the grounds that the artiste was a flight risk.

At the centre of the manoeuvres is a transaction involving the sale by Duprey last year of CLICO Energy to a German business group called Proman.
